ANNOUNCEMENTS
- Arboretum path closures — Paths on both sides of the waterway in the arboretum's east half are closed through Sept. 27 for the Arboretum Waterway Maintenance and Enhancement Project. The construction project also will require the closure of a short section of path just west of the Wyatt Footbridge. This closure will be on the north side of the waterway through June. During this same period, the footbridge will be subject to occasional daytime closures (with notices to go up at least a week in advance).
- Imagining America call for participation — Consortium asks for creative sessions that engage with Communities, Arts, Lands and Learning (C.A.L.L.), to be presented at national conference to be held at UC Davis, Oct. 12-14. Proposal deadline: March 20.
- Call for applications for DIAL (Data, Informatics and Application Launch) Grant Pilot Program — The objective, as stated by the Office of Research: to provide targeted funding to support translational science and innovative research performed by UC Davis researchers, with the intent of demonstrating commercial potential, proof of concept or other outcomes that improve or clarify the commercialization risk profile for data, information science or software and related applications being developed at UC Davis. Deadline: March 7.
- Call for applications for staff advisor to the Board of Regents — Deadline: March 10.
- Applications available for Staff Assembly scholarships — Awards last year for staff and their dependents totaled nearly $20,000. Deadline: March 27.
- Call for nominations for Staff Assembly Citations of Excellence — For individuals and teams. Deadline: March 27.

Music ensembles perform last notes of the quarter
The Department of Music's end-of-quarter concert schedule includes the University and Alumni choruses and Symphony Orchestra performing Brahms' Requiem, and a Concert Band program that draws on great works of 19th-century American literature.
