Science Tuesday and Science Friday
Separate programs this week involve science and the media. Today (Sept. 20), a panel discussion will address the media's role in disseminating science news to the public. On Saturday (Sept. 24), the Science Friday radio show turns the Mondavi Center into a studio, with the public invited to sit in as host Ira Flatow records a program with UC Davis scientists. - Exploratorium and UC Davis — Partnership offers opportunities for faculty and student participation in a variety of ways, including speaking engagements, discussion panels and demonstrations, and co-development of hands-on exhibits and proposals for joint research.
- Call for applications for the position of faculty director, Imagining America: Artists and Scholars in Public Life — National recruitment by UC Davis and Imagining America, which will operate out of UC Davis starting next summer. Imagining America is a national consortium of nearly 100 academic institutions and cultural organizations dedicated to advancing civic engagement, democratic culture and equity within higher education, through the approaches of the arts, humanities and design.

- Road closures — Portions of Brooks and Levee roads, west of Highway 113, are closed to through traffic through Sept. 26, for construction between the UC Davis sheep barn and Hopkins Road.
