Transitioning to Retirement series start Jan. 13 in Davis
Registration is underway for the UC Davis Retiree Center's annual four-part Transitioning to Retirement workshop series, beginning Jan. 13 on the Davis campus and Feb. 17 on the Sacramento campus. - Science Café: "Science and Saving Coral Reefs" — A conversation with marine biologist Mike Gil, a postdoctoral researcher at UC Davis, and the scientist behind the vlog SciALL.org. Jared Shaw, associate professor of chemistry, hosts the monthly Science Café, which is sponsored by the Division of Mathematical and Physical Sciences. (Dec. 14)
- "Best Practices for Scientific Presentations: Information Design, Advanced PowerPoint and Scientific Storytelling" — James R. Carey, distinguished professor of entomology, will share his expertise on digital strategies. - Africa Rising Speaker Series — Seven former Borlaug LEAP Fellows have organized this program around a book they are editing, Future of African Agriculture: Perspectives from the Next Generation of African Scientists. (Jan. 11)
