Fall Convocation: 'Building Our Future'
Chancellor Linda P.B. Katehi presides next week at the Fall Convocation, addressing the topic, "Building Our Future." - Road work: Intersection of Old Davis Road and Mrak Hall Drive — Through Sept. 25 for construction of a new crosswalk and bus turnout. Old Davis Road remains open for through traffic. No left turns or right turns from Old Davis Road to Mrak Hall Drive; use Alumni Lane instead (in front of the Welcome Center). All pedestrians must cross on the east side of the intersection. - Road work: Beckett Hall Circle west of California Avenue — Westbound lane closed through Sept. 17 for underground utility work in the vicinity of the International Center construction project.

We present our preview of the arts for fall quarter. Highlights include the Summer Symphony (free concert) and cellist Anssi Karttunen; Opening Night with creative writing faculty and Book Chats with faculty authors; a reading by award-winning poet Craig Santos Perez; the comedy of errors The Government Inspector; and an exhibition of baby rattles at the Design Museum.
