Convocation, giant welcome to start the year
Faculty and staff are always invited to the Fall Convocation, and this year they're invited to participate in another important event as we start the school year: the New Student Celebration! Faculty, staff and returning students are asked to gather outside The Pavilion to cheer on the new students as they emerge from their celebration at 5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21. The convocation will be the next day, Tuesday, Sept. 22, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts. [ More… ]

What an opening week for the School of Law, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary year. Fall semester classes began Aug. 24, an anniversary celebration was held Aug. 25, and, at the state Capitol on Aug. 27, Dean Kevin '. - Road work: Intersection of Old Davis Road and Mrak Hall Drive — Through Sept. 25 for construction of a new crosswalk and bus turnout. Old Davis Road remains open for through traffic; the left-turn lane at Mrak Hall Drive will be closed, starting around the end of this week and lasting for about two weeks. A short detour to Alumni Lane will get you where you're going. Pedestrians will cross on the east side of the intersection. See story and slideshow.
- Road work: Beckett Hall Circle west of California Avenue — Westbound lane closed through Sept. 17 for underground utility work in the vicinity of the International Center construction project.
