School of Education's Levine to step down
Harold Levine says he will step down as dean of the School of Education at the end of this academic year, when he completes his third term — having held the post for 15 years. He's the founding dean, the only dean the school has ever had. Levine's career with UC spans 40 years on two campuses, UCLA and Davis. [ More… ]

'Common good assessment' to replace recharge for certain services
All across the campus you hear people ask, "Explain to me again, Why do we charge ourselves for our own services?" Well, starting Jan. 1, with the implementation of the Common Good Assessment, or CGA, the university (excluding the medical center) will end the practice of recharging for about a dozen services, including the substantial majority of voice and data services provided by Information and Educational Technology, and selected safety services, such as background checks, cash escorts and Aggie Host event staff. - Call for applications: Management Skills Assessment Program, or MSAP — This systemwide program is next being held April 18-21 at the UCLA Conference Center.
