Fewer of us are driving alone to campus
Data point from annual travel survey is good news for our overall carbon footprint, which shrank from 7.8 pounds of carbon-dioxide-equivalent per capita each weekday in the 2014-15 year to 7.2 pounds per capita in 2015-16. RESEARCH: Ancient CO2 record hints at the future
Deep-time reconstruction, using fossilized leaves and soil-formed minerals, shows that "climate change not only impacts plants, but that plants' responses to climate can in turn impact climate change itself, making for amplified and in many cases unpredictable outcomes," says Professor Isabel Montañez of the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences.
