Rich Corsi will lead the College of Engineering for another five-year term. A team of reviewers praised his work on the college’s Next Level strategic vision, as well as his transparent and collaborative work style. They also commended his efforts to increase the college’s visibility.
Mark Stetter will continue to lead the Weill School of Veterinary Medicine. He earned high marks from reviewers for fostering a strong sense of community, collegiality and belonging, and for his work to launch a significant expansion and modernization of the vet school’s facilities.
The Campus Community Book Project has announced its title for 2026-27: historian Timothy Snyder’s On Tyranny: Twenty Lessons from the Twentieth Century. The author will visit campus in March.
The World Cup brought many together over the summer, and the soccer craze can continue as UC Davis’ teams take the pitch, with conference matchups shown on a new streaming platform, MW+.
Commuter card for parking, transit — Eligible employees can sign up, change or end their commuter benefits between the 1st and 10th of every month.
Natural gas release — PG&E crews will conduct a controlled release of natural gas in Visitor Lot 2, behind the Jan Shrem and Maria Manetti Shrem Museum of Art, on Thursday (Sept. 10).
Moove-In road closure, traffic advisory — Student Housing and Dining Services is advising the campus community to be aware of traffic and parking impacts during Moove-In. During residence hall Moove-In Sept. 15-17, lots 25 and 47 and the Cuarto area will be closed for general parking, and Dairy Road will be closed from 7 a.m.-6 p.m. (university and vendor vehicles will be permitted, and access to the dairy facility will remain open for employee parking).
Constitution Day — UC President James B. Milliken encourages you to “broaden your knowledge of and appreciation for this historic and important document” in honor of the Sept. 17 observance.
