Mural Brings Student Voices to Wall of Shields Library

The spring quarter project by Jose Arenas’ mural students is bringing new life to the first floor of Shields Library, and, in the words of University Librarian and Vice Provost Bill Garrity, “making the library a place that supports not only academic success, but also belonging, inspiration and connection.”

Their Message: College is Within Reach for Anyone

The Avanza Rising Scholars Conference didn’t just provide information about UC Davis to hundreds of middle school, high school and transfer students — it introduced participants to university life, mentors and role models; and demonstrated that college pathways exist for all students.
