A Research Funding Debate

The next Chancellor’s Colloquium is set for Feb. 17, and the free event will pit two economists against each other in a debate to decide whether “scientific progress is best achieved through publicly funded research initiatives.” Attendees can submit questions and share their views on the topic.

We’re Platinum Once Again

The League of American Bicyclists has renewed UC Davis’ status as a Bicycle Friendly University at the platinum level — its highest possible recognition of our “commitment to safe, accessible and innovative bicycle programs.” That work continues with efforts like the weekly safety corridors being set up this month.

Grab a Brush and Join In

All are invited to help bring a student-designed mural to life in celebration of our many sustainability efforts, encompassing everything from the Big Shift to the Sheepmowers. The paint-by-numbers style event will take place Feb. 19 and 20, and those interested in getting their hands dirty are encouraged to RSVP first.
