UC Davis Earns Status as a Black-Serving Institution
UC Davis is one of the first universities to earn a new state distinction for the resources it provides to Black and African American students, a goal that “serves the interests of all Californians,” as the state law establishing the designation says.

In her four decades as an Aggie, veterinarian and epidemiologist Jonna Mazet, who serves as vice provost of Grand Challenges, has sought to lessen the harms of emerging infectious diseases and address challenges related to conservation.
Road closure — A portion of California Avenue near Cruess Hall is closed starting this week.
Gift and dues reporting deadline — Gifts made to state officials in October, November and December, along with institutional membership dues to organizations that use their proceeds for lobbying, must be reported by Jan. 12.
Call for proposals — Grants of up to $7,500 will be awarded to projects that advance inclusive global dialogues and that contribute to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. (Deadline: Jan. 20)
Soaring to New Heights — Nominate an individual, team or unit by Jan. 21 to be recognized with one of several Diversity and Principles of Community Achievement Awards.
2026 ADMAN Conference — Save the date for the event, which will be held April 7 with a theme of “Empower, Endure, Elevate!” in the University Credit Union Center.
