The Faculty Who Will Speak

Faculty members who are beloved by their students and who have been honored for their teaching are among those who will address thousands at five undergraduate commencements at Golden 1 Center, starting this Friday (June 14).

Their Remarkable Journeys

From leading Picnic Day or The California Aggie to earning diplomas while succeeding as single mothers, these undergrads all have their sights set on commencement, where they will address their peers. See also: Our gift guide for grads.

Cork Harvested on Campus

Where does cork come from? In one recent instance, it will come from the bark of a cork oak tree near Lake Spafford. Students from a viticulture and enology class got a front-row seat to the demonstration by professional cork harvesters from Portugal.

Next Title in Book Project

The 2024-25 Campus Community Book Project selection is a public health researcher’s look at the physical toll of systemic injustice. Volunteers are sought to help plan events around the theme of health equity and justice.
