Alum Headed Back to Space

Tracy Caldwell Dyson, Ph.D. ’97, will again look down upon “the beautiful hue of our protective atmosphere” when she returns to the International Space Station in March. She is scheduled to be there for six months, photographing Earth and conducting experiments on how fire spreads in space.

Students who spent a day with campus leaders like Cynthia Carter Ching, interim dean of the School of Education, called the experience “life-changing” and were surprised to have their input encouraged during high-level meetings. The program is accepting applications now.
