Veterinary Genetics Lab Will Move to Aggie Square in 2025
The School of Veterinary Medicine’s lab, known for its pioneering animal DNA testing and genetics services, will move to Aggie Square’s standalone “building on the square.” Its nearly 80 employees will be the first from the school in Sacramento.
Thiebaud Family Donates Art From Picasso, Matisse, Others
The UC Davis Fine Arts Collection has a dozen new paintings, prints and sculptures from the private collection of Wayne Thiebaud, including works by Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, Richard Diebenkorn, Frank Auerbach and more.
UC Davis researchers are going beyond familiar wearables like smartwatches or Bluetooth headphones and into the realm of devices that helps incontinence patients monitor how full their bladders are or help astronauts “feel” what a robotic arm is doing.
Among the February Crowdfund cohort, a total of 14 teams met or exceeded their fundraising goals — a record since the program began in February 2020. One of the successful teams was a group seeking to restore vision to blind dogs.
Call for nominations — Jacquelyn Anderson Wellness Innovation Award is designed to recognize and acknowledge staff or faculty who exhibit innovation in research, education or advocacy within the realm of wellness. Deadline: April 19.

In addition to breakout sessions and research exhibits, the annual Research Expo will feature a keynote address from Dennis Chornenky, chief AI advisor for UC Davis Health. His talk “will explore the transformative potential of artificial intelligence in advancing medical science and research.” (April 18)
