New Vice Chancellor for Research: Simon Atkinson

Atkinson, who currently serves as vice chancellor for research at the University of Kansas, will take the helm of UC Davis’ Office of Research effective Nov. 15. “I’ve been impressed by the growing portfolio of high-impact research and scholarship, but even more so by the collegiality of the research community,” he says.

Copeland to Headline Women & Philanthropy Symposium

Women & Philanthropy’s annual symposium on Nov. 5 will feature a conversation with Misty Copeland, the first Black woman principal dancer with American Ballet Theatre. Three notable alumnae will also participate in a panel discussion, and the 2023 Women & Philanthropy Impact Award winner will be announced.
