Graduate Studies announced the master’s and doctoral students who will compete in the campus Grad Slam, Thursday, April 6. RSVPs are now being accepted (space is limited). Cash prizes will be awarded, and the first-place competitor will advance to the systemwide Grad Slam in May.

Gymnastics Wins MPSF Title
|
Congratulations to our gymnastics team, led by Coach of the Year Tanya Ho ’10, for capturing the 2023 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation championship last weekend. Two members of the team, Keanna Abraham and Megan Ray, will advance to NCAA regional competition, each of them in the same two events: vault and floor exercise. Go Ags!

Annual asbestos notification — This notice is required by the California Health and Safety Code, notifying all employees of the presence of asbestos in campus buildings constructed prior to 1979.

Transportation Services forum — 4-5 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, remote. This edition of Transportation Services’ “Transportation Tomorrow” series will include general updates, parking and transportation tips and tricks, and a question-and-answer session.

In the second week of play in the Big West Conference, the Aggies (1-2) host the Cal State Fullerton Titans (2-1) for three games: 2:30 p.m. Friday (March 24) and 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday (March 25 and 26), Dobbins Stadium. The Aggies host Loyola Marymount for a nonconference game, noon Monday (March 27).
“Status Report on Latino Civil Rights After 20 Years as Nation’s Largest Minority Group,” presented by Thomas Saenz, president and general counsel, Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund, or MALDEF. (March 22, in person and livestream)
Discussion and support: Cultivating Hope and Optimism, March 22; and Coping With Grief, Loss and Change, March 29. Both remote.
The FIRST Robotics Sacramento Regional takes place Thursday through Sunday (March 23-26), free and open to the public. (The website gives the location as the ARC Pavilion, but it’s really the University Credit Union Center). High school teams, including Davis’ own Citrus Circuits, will engage in a field trial called “Charged Up.”
