Chancellor Gary S. May addresses distress over a student-led event tonight (March 14) organized by Turning Point USA at UC Davis. It is a registered student organization, he says, with a right to reserve facilities and invite speakers, and the university faces a heavy burden in denying such events.

Open Ed Platform Expands
|
LibreTexts, the open education platform founded by Professor Delmar Larsen, has received a $4 million grant from the California Education Learning Lab to further develop the platform’s open homework system, ADAPT, which aims to decouple homework from pricey textbooks.

- Trombone Thursday — Music lecturer Russ Zokaites, pictured, presents a Shinkoskey Noon Concert program featuring 20th- and 21st-century works for bass trombone and piano. (March 16, free)
- Percussion Ensemble — Performing Steve Reich’s Drumming, considered one of the greatest works of minimalism and one of his most significant and influential works. With vocalists from the Graduate Student Ensemble. (March 17, free)
