Two professors and 11 associate professors have been honored with an additional title: Chancellor’s Fellow. “Our newest fellows represent the very best of UC Davis and I congratulate them,” Chancellor Gary S. May said. Each receives a $25,000 award for their research or other scholarly work.

Police Accountability Board winter public meeting — Quarterly meeting, in office-hours format, Wednesday, Feb. 15, remote.

State of the Campus — Chancellor Gary S. May will address the Academic Senate’s Representative Assembly near the start of its meeting at 2:10 p.m. Thursday (Feb. 16), multipurpose room, Student Community Center.

Staff Assembly Citations of Excellence — The nomination period opens Feb. 15 for these citations recognizing individual staff members and teams for outstanding achievements that go above and beyond the requirements outlined in their position descriptions.

Staff and Staff Dependent Scholarship Program — The application period opens Feb. 15 for these scholarships administered by the UC Davis/UC Davis Health Staff Assembly Scholarship Committee.

ADMAN Conference 2023 — Registration is open for this annual program put on by the Administrative Management Group, or ADMAN, for staff at all levels. This year’s conference will be Tuesday, March 21, in person, with the theme “The Power Within You!” A limited number of scholarships are available for departments with limited training funds.

Thank Goodness for Staff vendor registration — Registration is open for the Vendor Showcase at TGFS 2023: evening program May 9 and daytime program May 10.

Date selected: Writing Across the Curriculum Seminar and Workshop — Registration is open for this program for faculty and other instructors, including teaching assistants, to be held Friday, March 3, in person and on Zoom. Presented by the University Writing Program.

Grants for projects in support of our community’s health and well-being — Funding is available from three sources: Healthy UC Davis Project Grant, open to all UC Davis affiliates (deadline Feb. 17); Equity in Mental Health Grant, open to all UC Davis affiliates (deadline Feb. 17); and the Student Equity in Mental Health Programming Fund, (applications accepted any time).

Eleven open houses around campus, at our museums and other scientific collections, this Saturday (Feb. 18). “It’s a free, family friendly educational event for the community where visitors get to meet and talk with UC Davis scientists and see amazing objects and organisms from the world around us,” said Biodiversity Museum Day chair Tabatha Yang, education and outreach coordinator for the Bohart Museum of Entomology.
“The happiest place to craft in Davis” is celebrating a face lift and maker space, with demonstrations, snacks and a visit by Chancellor May. (9-11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15)
Christopher Reid presents The Song of Lunch, his narrative poem-turned-BBC2 film, in the Creative Writing Series. (Feb. 15, in person)
