The opening of Orchard Park earlier this month means not only a new place for students — including those with families — to live. It also means the university has exceeded its 2018 commitment to provide 15,000 student beds on campus by 2023.

A New Home for Native Art

The Gorman Museum of Native American Art will reopen Sept. 22 and 23 in a new space along Old Davis Road that is nearly four times the size of its old location. This year is the 50th anniversary of the museum, which has 2,250 artworks, most created since 1980.

Spin Me Right Round Campus

Starting next Friday (Sept. 8), there will be a new way to get around Davis and UC Davis: Renting bikes and scooters from Spin’s mobile app. The electric-boosted devices automatically detect slow or no-ride zones, and cost $1 to unlock, plus 32 cents a minute.
