Ribbons Call Veterans to Mind

Started by a student veteran 12 years ago, the yellow-ribbon project on the Quad is meant to raise awareness of Veterans Day, to show that it isn’t just a day off or a day with no school — but a day to honor active-duty and former military personnel. People like Chancellor May’s “Uncle Ike,” who served with the Tuskegee Airmen.

Message to McClatchy High
|
Chancellor Gary S. May joined other UC leaders at Sacramento’s C.K. McClatchy High School last week, telling 10th graders they can “Achieve UC” and that the university is ready to help with pathways to admission and robust financial aid. Four students, three of them McClatchy alumni, offered firsthand accounts of their college experiences.

Flu shots — All employees must receive a flu vaccination or formally opt out by Dec. 1. Shots are available from your health care provider, county clinics and many pharmacies. Record your vaccination or submit your declination form in Health-e-Messaging.
