Commencement 2.0 Redux
|
Upended by the pandemic in spring 2020, our big new way of holding undergraduate commencement — consolidating seven ceremonies into three and moving them outdoors — is moving forward in 2022. The ceremonies are scheduled from 8 to 10 a.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday, June 10-12, in UC Davis Health Stadium.

Crisis in Ukraine: Roundup
|
UC Davis has arranged support group meetings — in person and remote — for employees impacted by the crisis in Ukraine, while at the same time calling on faculty experts in political science, history and Russian to help explain the crisis to the public, by way of a UC Davis LIVE at noon Wednesday (March 9).

So three UC presidents and a chancellor walked into ... the Vanderhoef Studio Theatre, where, before an audience of about 200, they engaged in an hourlong discussion of the challenges of the presidential office, access and affordability in higher education, and more. It was the winter edition of the Chancellor’s Colloquium.

An Untapped Opportunity
|
Before a drop of treated water in California ever reaches a consumer’s faucet, about 8% of it has already been wasted due to leaks in the delivery system. Nationally, the waste is even higher, at 17%. This represents an untapped opportunity for water savings, according to a study from the UC Davis Center for Water-Energy Efficiency.
