Process Systems Engineering (part of the Department of Chemical Engineering) joined with Facilities Management on a project to cool the campus and save money with less power consumed, by building an algorithm that includes such factors as prices, current and forecasted weather, and demand for cooling.

Fellowship opportunities in Japan — Information session (remote) is scheduled for Friday, Jan. 28, presented by Global Affairs and the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, or JSPS, the largest research-funding agency in Japan, which has hundreds of funding opportunities available in all fields (social science, humanities, STEM, multidisciplinary) for pre-Ph.D. students, postdocs and faculty (junior, mid and senior level).

Three dynamic new exhibitions, delayed by our remote start to winter quarter, explore multiple visions of resistance and protest through video, and showcase early works by renowned artists William T. Wiley and Mary Heilmann.

Well-Being Ticket Deal for January: Staff and faculty have until Jan. 22 to purchase discounted tickets ($10 each, limit two per person) to see Circa’s Humans 2.0, 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 28. The Mondavi Center advises this is a more mature performance, recommended for ages 8 and up.
