Athletics Celebrates Title IX
|
In the run-up to the June anniversary of the enactment of federal legislation creating transformational opportunities for women in education and related activities, Aggie Athletics is hosting a digital celebration with feature stories and more on the history and evolution of women’s sports at UC Davis, and information about Title IX-themed games during the spring sports season.

Welcoming 3 UC Presidents
|
Chancellor Gary S. May will host 13-plus years of UC presidential experience at his winter quarter Chancellor’s Colloquium, 4-5:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 24, an in-person program (with no livestream). The guests: Mark G. Yudof (president from 2008 to 2013), Janet S. Napolitano (2013-20) and Michael V. Drake, who succeeded Napolitano. Tickets are free; see story for details on how to get them.

The Science of Relationships
|
Psychology professor Paul Eastwick, who runs the Attraction and Relationships Research Laboratory, is doing double duty on the UC Davis airwaves this week, just in time for Valentine’s Day. He’s the guest on the latest edition of the UC Davis podcast The Backdrop, online today (Feb. 8), and will join a faculty colleague on UC Davis LIVE, 11 a.m. Thursday (Feb. 10).

Campus Safety Lighting Walk — Rescheduled for 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, after being postponed in January. For students, staff, faculty and other community members. Help identify lights that may not be working and areas that may need improved lighting. Meet at the Memorial Union flagpole; please register in advance.

Police Accountability Board winter public meeting — 4-5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, remote.

Chancellor’s Innovator of the Year award — Call for nominations of individual UC Davis faculty or staff members, or teams that may include UC Davis faculty, students and staff. Open to all academic disciplines. Deadline: March 14. This is one of three Chancellor’s Innovation Awards; nominations for the other two, Innovative Community Partner and Lifetime Achievement in Innovation, will be provided by the awards selection committee.

ADMAN Conference registration open — The Administrative Management Group invites all campus staff to its annual conference, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, in person.

ProShare 2022 — A networking program for managers and aspiring managers and staff at all levels, to help them form connections with campus and medical center colleagues for mutual guidance and support. Registration deadline: Feb. 18.

Staff Assembly and Aggie Athletics have teamed up to offer free admission to staff and faculty for two basketball games: 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, men vs. Cal Poly; and 6 p.m. Thursday, March 3, women vs. Long Beach. Staff and faculty are eligible for two adult tickets to each game and can buy additional tickets for $7 for adults and $3 for ages 3-13. Use Promo Code AGGIESTAFF. Staff Assembly giveaways for the first 100 staff attendees.
