Targeting the Virus of Hate
|
UC Davis joins the city of Davis and Yolo County in a new initiative called Hate-Free Together, which will rely on the same kind of partnerships that proved so successful with Healthy Davis Together. “In this case, rather than COVID-19 being the virus, hate is the virus we’re trying to eradicate,” Chancellor Gary S. May says.

Team’s Season Like No Other
|
Members of the men’s water polo team have demonstrated resilience and closeness in spades this year, pulling together in response to two traumatic events: a near-drowning at a recent practice and a car crash that required a former player to have part of a leg amputated. The team has also received an outpouring of support from all sides.

Commencement x 2
|
Kaitlin “Kat” Raymond ’22 will speak Saturday at not one but two commencements — the regular fall ceremony and a spring makeup — after not having the opportunity to give an address as an alternate last June. She will encourage the graduates to push forward into their new adventures with the same spirit they had as freshmen.

Unitrans and the Davis Food Co-op are once again sponsoring this collection for the ASUCD Pantry, which assists students in need. The Pantry noted a couple of high-priority needs: easy grab-and-go snacks, and toiletries and hygiene products, but whatever you can give will be much appreciated. The bus, a vintage double-decker from London, will be parked at the food co-op, 620 G St., from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday (Dec. 10). The first 50 donors will receive 10-ride Unitrans passes. While making drop-offs, take time to climb to the top floor of the bus! Bring the kids!
Campus toy drive continues through Friday (Dec. 9); leave new, unwrapped toys with your outgoing mail.
