A Decade of Listening, Action
|
It was 10 years ago this week when campus police pepper-sprayed student protesters on the Quad, in an action that the Reynoso Task Force declared “should and could have been prevented.” UC Davis has responded in the years since with progressive measures that have reformed campus policing and safety, and addressed students’ basic needs.

Sitting Down With SF’s Mayor
|
London Breed, the UC Davis alumna (Class of 1997) who is the first woman of color to serve as San Francisco mayor and who is leading her city's response to the pandemic, is this quarter's guest in the 2021-22 Chancellor's Colloquium series. Her conversation with Gary S. May, recorded over the weekend, will be available to watch next Tuesday, Nov. 23.

‘Rediscovering’ Picnic Day
|
Picnic Day is coming back in-person, after two years of virtual events. The campus open houses, believed to be the largest student-run event in the nation, will take on the theme “Rediscovering Tomorrow” for its 108th iteration. It is scheduled for Saturday, April 23, 2022, and more news is yet to come, like the parade marshal announcement.

‘New’ Is Key in New Olive Oil
|
An “olio nuovo,” or new oil, the freshest extra virgin olive oil, produced by the Olive Center in collaboration with the Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation and its Séka Hills line of agricultural products, will make its debut Saturday (Nov. 20) during the Olio Nuovo Festival, including tastings, a self-guided olive tour and an olive tree gardening workshop.

In their 68th meeting, the Aggies (5-2) and the Sacramento State Hornets (7-0) will square off in their last regular season game, Saturday (Nov. 20), 1 p.m. kickoff at UC Davis Health Stadium. The Aggies are out of contention for the Big Sky Conference championship, but still angling for a playoff berth.
