Ramp Closures and a Detour
|
The Hutchison Drive improvement project west of the central campus is about to get serious for employees, students and visitors who leave the campus by car, going west on Hutchison to get on Highway 113. The north- and southbound on-ramps will be closed, but there’s an easy detour.

Hutchison Drive improvement project — Ramp work at Highway 113 is scheduled to start next week with the closure of the northbound and southbound on-ramps on the north side of the overpass. See Dateline story for the detour.

Gatekeeper training — For teaching assistants, staff and faculty, to provide them with skills and knowledge to speak with students comfortably and confidently about mental health concerns and then refer the students to appropriate resources. The two-hour training is being held twice this week: Wednesday and Thursday, Nov. 3 and 4.

First-Year Aggie Connections — Faculty, staff and graduate students are invited to sign up to be facilitators of First-Year Aggie Connections in winter quarter, providing support to new freshman and transfer students as they navigate their way through their first year at UC Davis.

Sixth annual event is open to all staff, faculty, students and alumni who are military veterans, along with family and friends, community affiliates and supporters. Speakers include Melissa Washington, Navy veteran, founder and CEO, Women Veterans Alliance. Noon-1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, remote. RSVP for Zoom link.
The Veterans Success Center invites volunteers to help with the ribbon-tying, 10 a.m.-noon Monday (Nov. 8).
Pamyua is bringing its Inuit-inspired music-and-dance performance to the Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts, 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 21. The Well-Being Ticket Deal offers $10 tickets to staff and faculty (maximum two tickets per person), for purchases made through Nov. 15.

Halloween has come and gone, but the pictures live on in social media posts like the ones we’ve gathered. Aggies of all ages dressed up and decorated, and celebrated safely with friends. Dogs and even horses got in on the action. Plus, we know of a place where you can still go trick-or-treating (costumes required).
