Vaccinating the Community

UC Davis Health is bringing doses of the COVID-19 vaccine to areas where access to health care may be lacking. Most recently, staff set up a clinic in an Oak Park church after its pastor asked a local politician for help getting vaccines for nearby residents. Weekly clinics are coming soon to South Sacramento and Oak Park.

A New Major: Data Science

The university’s newest major will debut in fall 2022, preparing students to collect, manage and analyze data, to consider the ethical and societal impacts of data science, and to communicate their discoveries effectively. The interdisciplinary major is focused on one of the fastest-growing career sectors in the country.

His eventual decision on zoology wound up having a large impact on his career. Seaweed Has Long-Term Pros

Beef cattle that ate small helpings of seaweed with their meals over a five-month period last year gained weight just like their peers and showed an 82 percent drop in methane emissions. The study, led by Professor Ermias Kebreab and Ph.D. student Breanna Roque, is a longer-term version of one done with dairy cows in 2018.
