Global Affairs Gives Awards

A Break From Zoom Routine

This competition (March 10) between undergraduates at UC Davis and Cardiff University is more than a test of knowledge on biochemistry related to COVID-19. “I thought the quizzes would help students get out of the Zoom routine,” says organizer Walter Leal, a distinguished professor of molecular and cellular biology. Indeed, response was overwhelming.

Kangaroo Case at Hospital

UC Davis, which has provided veterinary care for the Sacramento Zoo’s animals for many decades, found itself putting Brodie, an approximately 10-year-old female kangaroo, through a number of tests last week, after X-rays from a check-up showed several abnormalities in her chest.
