Davis Campus COVID Rules Are Unchanged — for Now
|
The state of California officially “reopened” today (June 15), lifting many COVID-19 restrictions for the general public. However, the Davis campus of the University of California still has its rules in place — which means, for now, face coverings and physical distancing are required.

Alumnae Set Bountiful Table for Town of Knights Landing
|
Each of the three women experienced some degree of financial hardship growing up, so they were more than happy to bring groceries and other essentials to Knights Landing in rural Yolo County. But now, with the last of the trio having graduated, they are hoping for a sustainable future for the resource table.

Dateline schedule — Your faculty-staff e-newsletter will take next week off before commencing a once-a-month schedule for three months: June 29, July 27 and Aug. 24. News does not stop, of course, so look for updates on our Dateline webpage. The chancellor’s Friday letters will next come out July 16, Aug. 13 and Sept. 17.

Highway 99 closure — Northbound and southbound, between 47th Avenue and Highway 50 in Sacramento, through 4 a.m. Wednesday (June 16), for construction. Use Interstate 5 instead. UC Davis Health reminds patients, visitors and employees to allow for extra travel time to and from UC Davis Medical Center and other buildings on the Sacramento campus.

Safety Month — Virtual activities and trainings continue: Lab Ramp-Up, week of June 14; Department Safety Coordinators Academy With Bonus Ergonomics and Job Hazards Analysis, week of June 21; and Timely Injury Reporting, week of June 28.

The Staff and Faculty Health and Well-Being Program invites you to “focus on your health and well-being and strengthen your inner resources with science-based mindfulness meditation, mindful pause and loving kindness meditations.” The free sessions, held weekly, are open to beginners and experienced meditators alike: Live Mindfulness Meditation (Mondays), Live Mindful Pause (Wednesdays) and Live Heartfulness Meditation (Thursdays), all remote.

The performers are back, the audience is back! Subscription renewals and new subscriptions are on sale (all subscriptions are choose your own, three or five events, in 2021-22). Returning subscribers must renew by July 6 to keep their seating priority.
