A 32-person task force on next-generation campus safety has issued preliminary recommendations, but its members agree that public input is needed before they can submit a final report in June. A series of 11 meetings has been scheduled to gather input on policing, safety and more.

106,000 Seek Admission

A record number of applicants — 105,850 to be exact — are seeking freshman or transfer status in fall 2021 when the campus plans a return to in-person instruction. The count is up 11.7 percent from a year ago.
