Assisting Afghan Refugees
|
School of Medicine and Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing students and UC Davis undergraduates (as translators) have set out in teams to visit Afghan families who have relocated to Sacramento, to help them adjust to their new surroundings. In monthly visits, team members serve as resources for whatever information the families may need.

Campus Menu Is Expanding
|
Coffee and food options are limited during winter break, but come January and February, Dining Services and the Coffee House intend to ramp up beyond what they offered in the fall. Watch for the return of Silo Market, King Hall Coffee, Gunrock Restaurant and Latitude Market, and the debut of California Coffee.

Staff and faculty have from Jan. 1 to 22 to purchase discounted tickets ($10 each, limit two per person) to see Australia’s Circa Contemporary Circus at the Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts. The Jan. 28 show, Humans 2.0, is described as “a symphony of acrobatics, sound and light ... intimate, primal and deeply engaged with the challenge of being human.” The Mondavi Center advises this is a more mature performance, recommended for ages 8 and up.
