External Research Funding Soars to Record $941 Million

External research funding beat UC Davis’ previous highest total by nearly $100 million, going to projects like COVID-19 clinical trials and vaccine strategies, a fellowship program for nursing leaders, and a system to train disease-threat responders in Africa and Southeast Asia. Half of the awards were federal, and state support increased as well.

Bringing Justice to Education Requires Intentional Change

About 1,000 people tuned in last week to listen to the co-directors and co-founders of UC Davis’ Transformative Justice in Education Center discuss what it will take to bring racial justice to education at all levels. Institutions will have to change both their practices and their mindsets, the faculty members say.
