Some In-Person Classes, Plus Safety, in Fall Term

Some in-person courses will be offered this fall, with safety precautions like meeting in larger-than-usual classrooms to allow for more space between people. Chancellor Forms Task Force on Campus Police Reform

As law enforcement across the country faces increased scrutiny, a new task force led by Renetta Tull, vice chancellor for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and Kevin Johnson, dean of the School of Law, will look for ways UC Davis can improve its community policing. The group’s recommendations are due to the chancellor by Dec. 15.

Regents: Prop. 209 Must Go

By unanimous vote, the UC governing board endorses a proposed constitutional amendment that would repeal the state’s ban on considering race and gender in admissions decisions — a prohibition added to the California Constitution by way of voter approval of Proposition 209 in 1996.
