The ‘Davis Difference’ Takes Center Stage on Police Site

The UC Davis Police Department has made significant changes in recent years, including new policies on crowd control, increased transparency through the independent Police Accountability Board and public stances on issues of social justice. Those changes and more are highlighted on a revamped website launched last week.

Donors Show Commitment During Time of Pandemic

UC Davis fundraising the last fiscal year set a new record: $252.9 million from 30,520 donors whose support contributed to a multitude of university initiatives. In emergency relief funds alone, the university raised more than $300,000 for COVID-19-related health care, food for students (which they picked up on the Quad) and more.

Two psychologists from the MIND Institute will discuss the topic Thursday morning (July 30).

For Collecting and Playing: Early Instruments Restored

Last summer, then-music student William Storz ’20 embarked on an ambitious project with lecturer Phebe Craig: cataloging and restoring the university’s collection of early-music instruments. The pair sought to not only repair the harpsichord, clavichord, recorders and other instruments, but to find a way for them to be played together in a classroom setting.
