From Farmworker to Doctor: Biography Focuses on Alum

Antonio Velasco, M.D. ’79, skipped sixth grade and finished high school in three years. He also spent breaks working in the fields alongside his parents, migrant farmworkers. He eventually opened a clinic for other farmworkers and helped develop protocols for pesticide exposure.
