June Commencement Speakers Named

Nadine Burke Harris, Francisco Rodriguez and Tracy Caldwell Dyson: Alumni distinguished as leaders in public health, education, and even outer space, have been named as the guest speakers for the campus’s three undergraduate commencements in June.

LAURELS: Do the Math (and Become a Fellow)

Two professors have been named fellows of the American Mathematical Society, one for work exploring the motion of shock waves and breaking ocean waves, and the other for using math to explore fundamental questions about DNA structure and function while serving underrepresented groups.

Moving to Single Orientation

Instead of multiple sessions all summer long, all new students will be here at once, right before classes begin, for a weeklong program that will include faculty-led seminars focused on strategies to succeed at UC Davis.

Losing Hair, Not Confidence

Kristin Aquilino is respected worldwide for her work to help rescue white abalone, but she’s being recognized as an Aggie Hero for the way she’s dealing with an autoimmune disorder that leads to hair loss. Know a hero? Nominations are currently being accepted.
