Taking a page from TV’s Undercover Boss, Chancellor Gary S. May joins staff members at work. He wasn’t undercover (I mean, really, who doesn’t know who he is?) but he wore jeans and had shears in hand.
All staff and faculty are encouraged to come to afternoon event to hear from Chancellor May about UC Davis’ plans for the decade ahead. Fun, interactive preshow at 2 p.m., program at 3 p.m.

Spending hours being treated for cancer, anemia or other conditions is no fun, especially when the patient is a child. Jenny Belke of the Comprehensive Cancer Center’s Pediatric Infusion Center is an Aggie Hero for her work using everything from toys to a friendly Labrador retriever named Huggie to distract and educate young patients.

The Jan Shrem and Maria Manetti Shrem Museum of Art’s featured artist for December, Patris Miller, hosts this salon on the topic of “Connections Between Artist and Place.” (Dec. 19)

May and other campus leaders served up a late-night meal of pancakes, breakfast burritos, fruit and more to students studying in the Coffee House last week. … A Ph.D. candidate in geography is a national cross-country champion. … Voting on the fall grad cap contest begins tomorrow (Dec. 18).
