Campus secures $1.5 million for basic needs
The Basic Needs Oversight Committee reports continued progress in the areas of mental health care, food access and security, and affordable housing. Significantly, the university secured $1.5 million from UC’s Mortgage Origination Program for emergency housing, emergency meals and basic needs support. [ More… ]
- Stride for Aggie Pride 5K, Sunday, April 28, proceeds benefit the ASUCD Awards Endowment (providing tuition support) and Aggies Helping Aggies (formerly We Are Aggie Pride), providing emergency funding to students to cover the cost of food, rent and other essentials not covered by other programs. Run or walk in this event, on campus, or make a donation.

- Academic regalia for faculty for spring commencements — Caps, gowns and UC Ph.D. hoods are available at no charge through Supply Chain Management; order deadline April 12. Non-UC hoods and UC hoods for degrees other than Ph.D. are available for rent through UC Davis Stores; order deadline April 24 for June ceremonies, late fee applies for May ceremonies.
- Traffic controls on Hutchison Drive — Eastbound lane between Surge II and the Silo, April 15-21, for preliminary work associated with forthcoming construction projects, including the Teaching and Learning Center. Auto and bus traffic will be permitted, but pedestrian and bicycle along the south side of Hutchison will be prohibited.

The Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts’ new season promises a wondrous year ahead in music, dance and theatre, including two free concerts, from September to June. The center’s 18th season also has insightful speakers (including the author of the 2019-20 selection in the Campus Community Book Project) and a free film series (also related to the book project).
