Our SimpsonologistKarma Waltonen’s first-year seminar on The Simpsons isn’t about watching cartoons. Students discuss themes explored on the show, write their own scripts and talk about how the show reflects the time in which it was made. A lecturer in the University Writing Program, Waltonen is also adding to the joy of this year’s Campus Community Book Project. Advisory on labor action, Oct. 23-26
Kelly Ratliff, vice chancellor of Finance, Operations and Administration, tells the campus community: “We have contingency plans in place to ensure that critical health care, educational and research functions continue unimpeded. Chancellor’s Colloquium hosts Evicted author
Matthew Desmond, who earned a Pulitzer Prize for Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City, will give an address in the Chancellor’s Colloquium Distinguished Speaker Series on Monday, Nov. 5.
