- Town halls to assist in the recruitment for vice chancellor of Human Health Sciences — Join in discussions of the qualifications the university should be looking for in filling this position. Four town halls will be held on Thursday, Oct. 12: three on the Sacramento campus and one on the Davis campus. See the search webpage for more information.
- Call for nominations for 2018 Distinguished Emeritus/a Award — The Emeriti Association honors outstanding scholarly work or service (e.g., service in professional, university, Academic Senate, emeriti/ae, departmental, or editorial posts or committees) performed since retirement. Nomination deadline: 5 p.m. Oct. 30.
- GloCal Health Fellowships — For UC advanced graduate students, postdocs (M.D., D.V.M. and Ph.D.) and junior faculty. Application deadline: Nov. 1.
- Arboretum Drive closure between Mrak Hall Drive and Nelson Hall — Through Oct. 27, for underground utility construction. This section of road doubles as a path for pedestrians and bicyclists, and they can still get through.
