Fructose consumption tied to heart disease, diabetes

Researchers identify fructose — a simple sugar used in beverages — as a possible contributor to the development of metabolic syndrome, which can boost the risk of cardiovascular disease and diabetes. Seven individuals and five teams are recognized, and, from among them, Staff Assembly gives "distinguished" citations to three individuals and two teams.
