Chancellor hosts GZA for ‘Evening of Songs and Science’
The May 21 Chancellor’s Colloquium will feature Gary Grice, who, like the January speaker, Alan Alda, is an entertainer-turned-science educator. Grice, a rapper known as GZA, who is a founding member of the seminal hip-hop group Wu-Tang Clan, will give a presentation titled “Dark Matter: An Evening of Songs and Science.” Free and open to the public (tickets required and available now). - Fulbright Scholar Workshop — Global Affairs and Global Professional Programs invite faculty and administrators to hear from Kaitlin Taylor of the Institute of International Education, discussing opportunities for teaching, research and flexible initiatives in more than 125 countries; tips on crafting competitive applications and choosing the right fit related to awards and countries; and how to host Fulbright visiting scholars through various funds and programs. May 18; please RSVP by May 15.
- Call for applications for Diversity and Inclusion Innovation Grants — Funding is available to students, faculty and staff for projects in 2018-19 that will promote and enhance diversity and inclusion at the university. For the coming year, the organizers have particular interest in proposals that most directly connect with or impact students. Deadline: May 25.
