With summer's arrival, Dateline plans to take a few weeks off, starting next Tuesday (July 5). After that, we will publish Dateline every other week (July 12 and 26, and Aug. 9 and 23) before resuming regular publication on Sept. 6.

 New museum treasuresWayne Thiebaud, art professor emeritus, this week presented more of his treasured paintings to UC Davis' new Jan Shrem and Maria Manetti Shrem Museum of Art, scheduled to open Nov. 13.
