Mount Hood study suggests volcano eruptibility is rare
"People think about there being this big reservoir of liquid magma under a volcano, but we don't think it's in that state (of eruptibility) all the time," says Kari Cooper, associate professor, Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences, lead author of a study that could help in the development of a forecast system for eruptions. In-hospital formula use deters breastfeeding
Mothers who feed formula to their newborns in the hospital are less likely to fully breastfeed their babies in the second month of life and more likely to quit breastfeeding early, even if they had hoped to breastfeed longer, researchers in the School of Medicine have found. [ More… ]

BASKETBALL: ESPN2 on March 1, 'golden' tickets on March 6
UC Davis, its basketball teams and their fans have struck it rich with ESPN2 and campus police! On March 1, ESPN2 returns to The Pavilion for what will be the Aggie men's second nationally televised home game, one year after the first. For a women's game on March 6, the Police Department has "golden" tickets (as in free) for staff and faculty, and "Golden Aggie Tickets" for students. [ More… ]
