Fill Pavilion with Aggie blue

Come to the game if you can or watch it on TV — national TV, a first for Aggie men's basketball playing at home. Tipoff is 8 p.m. Thursday (March 7) vs. Long Beach State. The game will feature two of the top four scorers in the Big West Conference: UC Davis sophomore guard Corey Hawkins and Long Beach State senior guard James Ennis. STATE OF THE CAMPUS: Big initiatives on the horizon

The chancellor delivers her fourth State of the Campus address, saying there is much to feel good about and more to come this year, as the university continues to turn challenges into opportunities. Tahoe clarity best in 10 years

Lake Tahoe's clarity improved in 2012 for the second year in a row, and its waters were the clearest in 10 years, according to UC Davis scientists. Last year's average annual clarity level was 75.3 feet, or a 6.4-foot improvement from 2011. [ More… ]

Golden retriever study suggests neutering affects health

Researchers uncover earliest tobacco use in the Pacific Northwest

Native American hunter-gatherers living more than a thousand years ago in what is now northwestern California ate salmon, acorns and other foods, and now we know they also smoked tobacco — the earliest known usage in the Pacific Northwest, according to researchers in the Department of Anthropology and the Genome Center.
