Police continue investigation into Jan. 17 explosion
UC Davis Police Chief Matt Carmichael asks for the campus community's continued patience and understanding as the investigation proceeds into the Jan. 17 explosion in a campus apartment, an incident that led to David Snyder's arraignment on 10 felony counts. "We are taking this very seriously and must protect the integrity of the investigation," Carmichael said. "I promise that as soon as we are free to release additional information, we will." Chancellor Linda P.B. Katehi and Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor Ralph J. Hexter are hosting a colloquium and a forum next week. The Chancellor's Colloquium speaker is Brylyne Chitsunge, on the topic "Farming in the 21st Century: A Woman's Perspective from South Africa." Hexter is hosting Roger L. In-brain monitoring shows memory network
Working with patients with electrodes implanted in their brains, researchers at the the UC Davis Center for Neuroscience and The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston have shown for the first time that areas of the brain work together at the same time to recall memories. Faculty and staff are invited to join UC Davis Parent and Family Programs for two campus events: A Saturday book signing for campus authors, featuring brewmaster Charlie Bamforth, author of Beer is Proof God Loves Us, and a Sunday lecture on "Education, Engineering and Poetry" by engineering professor Rida Farouki.
