Design students dress up for heart health

UC Davis students have once again designed stunning gowns in sync with the national Red Dress project, reminding women to protect their heart health. The Red Dress is "a powerful symbol for raising awareness that heart disease is the leading killer of women," said lecturer Adele Zhang, who brought UC Davis into the project three years ago. Scientists target E. coli from farm to fork

UC Davis is participating in a large-scale research effort aimed at preventing potentially fatal illnesses linked to E. coli bacteria. The U.S. Department of Agriculture is funding the $25 million, coast-to-coast project, to which UC Davis is providing expertise in livestock health, foodborne disease and consumer food marketing. New workshop series: '(Re)Designing Courses for Hybrid Delivery'

As an academic developer at the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning, Rosemary Capps has often consulted with faculty members individually about "blended" or "hybrid" courses, which incorporate online instruction and may reduce face-to-face instruction. "But there are so many requests that I decided to make a workshop series," said Capps, announcing the inaugural offering of "(Re)Designing Courses for Hybrid Delivery." Town hall here Feb. 10 on systemwide police policies and procedures

The UC Office of the President is inviting students, staff and faculty at UC Davis to a town hall on campus next Friday, Feb. 10, to share their opinions and experiences related to existing policies and identify best practices in connection with protests at all 10 UC campuses. [ More… ]
