Davis campus launches new voluntary separation program

The Organizational Excellence initiative is off to a running start in 2011, including the announcement today (Jan. 14) that the UC Office of the President has approved a new voluntary separation program for the Davis campus — open to almost the entire campus, subject to eligibility and management approval. $40M to lead major multistate ag research programs

UC Davis this week received $40 million in federal grants to develop climate-change-tolerant plants and new bioenergy sources. BAG (Bags Across the Globe): Designing to Reduce Waste

Tuesday is opening day for the Design Museum's BAG exhibition, with a lecture and opening reception set for Sunday, Jan. 23. Curator Ann Savageau is showing reusable cloth bags (made from textile waste), and promoting their use as an alternative to single-use plastic bags.
