'Our community is at risk': Campus confronts prejudice, budget

Hundreds of people in the UC Davis community are now fighting two monsters: the budget crisis in Sacramento and prejudice on campus. As this week began, campus police were investigating a graffiti attack at the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Resource Center, and the etching of a swastika on a dorm room door. Chancellor Katehi issued a letter to the campus community deploring the crimes. [ More… ]

A needling concern: Students urged to 'Be Smart with Body Art'

The "Be Smart with Body Art" campaign launched in December 2009 by the UC Davis Cancer Center and Sacramento State aims to educate students about the health risks of piercings and tattoos.
