Philanthropic support tops $100M for fourth consecutive year
For the fourth year in a row, philanthropic support to UC Davis has surpassed $100 million. Private support to the campus totaled $112.3 million during the 2009-10 fiscal year that ended June 30, topping last year's $108.1 million total. [ More… ]
Shared service centers: Campus forums provide update
UC Davis will hold a series of forums next week to update campus community members on shared service center planning. A forum for employees in Administrative and Resource Management, Information and Educational Technology, Offices of the Chancellor and Provost, Student Affairs, and University Relations is set for Aug. 16. A second forum open to all staff is scheduled Aug. 19, and this one will be streamed live on the Web and also available for viewing following the meeting. [ More… ]

Passport services now available on campus
Students, staff and faculty with travel plans can now take care of their passport business without leaving campus. The place to go is the Campus Recreation Business Center, which began functioning as an official U.S. passport application acceptance facility on July 31. The center can provide passport photos, too. In research: Land on your toes, save your knees
Anterior cruciate ligament injuries are a common and debilitating problem, especially for female athletes. A new study from the UC Davis Human Performance Laboratory shows that changes in training can reduce shear forces on knee joints and could help cut the risk of developing ACL tears. [ More… ]

Arboretum's fall sales begin a week early
